Let’s explore and discover the Indian culture

In support of the unit of enquiry whose central idea is: “The different families and cultures of the world are defined by their traditions”, I4 students this month attended a Bollywood dance workshop, where they were introduced to the steps and movements of the famous Indian film production.

In addition, the pupils learned more about the characteristic symbols of Indian culture: they wore a Bindi between their eyebrows, shook bangles – the typical bracelets worn by Indian women, and saw and touched first-hand the brightly coloured silk fabrics of the sari. Afterwards, the children taught their schoolmates in our weekly assembly the choreography they had learnt and therefore shared their amazing learning.
