Proud hosts and participants in the CICAE-UCJC Debate League

Once again, our 3rdESO students participated in the CICAE-UCJC Debate League.

However, this time they were protagonists in two different ways: they were hosts and debaters. Our school hosted the 8th edition of the tournament which was attended by schools from all over Spain. As sponsor of this edition, we had a “friend of the house”, Mr. Manuel Campo Vidal, who encouraged the students to continue training in such important skills as communication and public speaking.

All 3rdESO students were part of the organisation and actively collaborated in the organisation of the league. They were room managers, in charge of photography and video, or in charge of the classrooms where the matches took place. They were in charge of welcoming and helping the more than 50 participating teams, and they did it all in an exemplary way, making both their tutors and teachers very proud of them.

In addition, eight students were also debaters and strongly defended the chosen question: Should the Spanish government ban mobile phones with internet access for children under 14?

One of our teams reached the quarter-finals (even competing against teams from the 1st Baccalaureate) and qualified for the meeting that will take place with all the finalists at the Camilo José Cela University at the beginning of March. Congratulations to all of them!
