“Napoleon Bonaparte, genius or tyrant?”

Reinforcing our goal of encouraging critical thinking and the skills of inquiry and reflection in our students, we have worked from the subject of contemporary history, a simple classroom debate where, after research and contrasting several rigorous sources, students had to defend with evidence and arguments, the consideration of “NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, GENIUS OR TYRAN?”.

The students have prepared both considerations in order to contrast the arguments for and against. As a conclusion each student reflects on this historical character and analyzes his point of view. And what do you think?

With this type of activity, students reinforce argumentation skills, the ability to express ideas in public and to consider critical thinking.
