In I5 we visited Arqueopinto as a Motivational Activity

On January 11th, the children in I5 had a field trip to Arqueopinto as their “motivational activity” for their second unit of inquiry.  The central idea for this unit is “Ancient Civilizations reflect today’s society”.

The children had a great time and were able to visit a typical Roman home and see first hand how the Romans lived and how they made a fire for cooking.  They got the opportunity to dress up like a Roman soldier and they learned how to make the tortoise formation which was developed by the Romans.  Last but not least, the children got the opportunity to learn how the Romans made mosaic art and the children made their own mosaic duck.

The kiddos had a fantastic introduction into a Roman’s life and were anxious to learn more about them.
