FORD DRIVING DREAMS – 3ºESO (MYP4)

On February 9, as part of the Action and Service Program (PAS) of the PAI, the students of 3rd grade (MYP4) participated in the great socio-educational innovation project Ford Impulsando Sueños, organized by the Ford Motor Company Foundation and AIPC Pandora, which took place in La Nave, the renowned urban innovation space of the Madrid City Council.

The students participated in a large training-contest event, together with students from other schools, during which, in teams of 10 boys/girls, they designed their own projects to try to tackle a social, environmental or educational challenge/problem of their interest. To carry it out, they had the help of facilitators knowledgeable in these subjects, who helped them to organize the fantastic ideas that arose around the question “What can we do to tackle social problems in our environment that really concern us? Undoubtedly, this eagerness to become agents of change empowered them, resulting in solutions that can actually be implemented and have the desired impact on society.

Among the many lessons they learned, they experientially developed competencies necessary for their integral growth, closely linked to the IB profile, such as social entrepreneurship, leadership, teamwork, empathy, communication, critical thinking. It was a different day for all of them and, above all, a lot of fun.

This action is part of one of the 3 mandatory actions that all IB students (ESO) must carry out throughout the year, as part of the PAS program. Undoubtedly, and after reading their reflections, it will be an action to be positively valued in future courses.
