We learn about Madrid’s flora and fauna on our trip to Cercedilla

On October 5th, the students of 1stESO (MYP2) went to Cercedilla (Sierra de Madrid), where they made a hiking route and entered the world of fauna and flora of the high mountains of Madrid.

The students, guided by biologists from the Community of Madrid, made different technical stops where they learned about the flora and fauna of the Madrid mountains, the different rock formations, as well as how to orient themselves in the environment.

This experience allowed our students to work more comprehensively on learning approaches such as interdisciplinary learning, since they covered topics from different subjects, helping them to connect concepts of biology, geography, geology, history and environment while exploring nature.
