Skype in the classroom
ICT includes the range of hardware and software devices and programmes such as personal computers, scanners, digital cameras, multimedia programmes, image editing software, database or even photocopier machines. It also includes the communications equipment through which people seek and access information including the Internet, email and video conferencing.
We had a wonderful first meeting with Dunat-grundschule in Germany. Ildiko Bikfalvi our german teacher, some other teachers and a group of kindergarden children sang beautiful songs to our children in Madrid. It was fantastic to see people making connections and sharing ideas. Our infant children sang to them an English song with a jolly Guten Morgen too.
ICT is increasing in importance in people’s lives and it is expected that this trend will continue, to the extent that ICT literacy will become a functional requirement for people’s work, social, and personal lives. ICT has become an integral and accepted part of everyday life for many people.
We can use Skype to communicate with partner classrooms around the world and to share the joy of speaking different languages.
