Drama Class

This month in our english drama class we have been learning and practising breathing techniques, expanding your diaphragm and chest on the inward breath and controlling your breath when you exhale which is when you project your voice.
Children learned to establish eye contact with the audience and they were told not to rush the first and last line of their text.
We talked about the Body language: practise walking and talking, standing on the spot, using appropriate (not distracting) body language.
We role-played with changing emotions . As you perform you can start with one emotion and end on a different one.
They practised visualisation by creating a mental picture of what they were saying and, to contextualise this, what, where, when and who? They also learned to think about what is not being said as well as the words on the page.
