A Memorable Learning Experience
The preschoolers of I5 recently took part in an exciting and educational field trip to the Kitchen Academy as part of their Unit of Inquiry, “Health determines the well-being of human beings.” This hands-on experience allowed the children to deepen their understanding of nutrition and how making healthy choices supports a strong, happy body.
The trip began with a warm welcome from the Kitchen Academy instructors, who introduced the preschoolers to the concept of healthy eating. Using colorful visuals and simple language, they explained the importance of fresh ingredients and balanced meals. The children eagerly participated in discussions about how the food they eat impacts their energy, growth, and overall health.
A highlight of the day was learning to make pizza from scratch. In another exciting activity, the preschoolers tried their hand at baking carrot cake muffins.
The field trip to the Kitchen Academy provided an enriching, hands-on opportunity for I5 to explore the connections between health, well-being, and the food they eat. By engaging directly in cooking and baking, the children gained practical skills and a deeper appreciation for healthy eating. This experience brought their Unit of Inquiry to life, inspiring them to make thoughtful choices about food and fostering habits that will support their well-being for years to come.
