TEDxSt George Madrid Youth: An Event That Inspires Young People to Unlock the Future

Madrid, [February 17, 2025] – On February 13, St. George Madrid hosted the highly anticipated TEDxSt George Madrid Youth event under the theme “Unlocking Tomorrow’s World,” where 13 young students presented their innovative ideas on the challenges and opportunities that the future holds for us.

The event, held at the St. George Madrid campus, attracted an enthusiastic audience composed of students, families, teachers, authorities, media, and representatives from the educational community. The speakers, students aged between 13 and 18, impressed everyone with their bold and creative proposals, addressing diverse topics such as leadership, the impact of technology, the footprint of history on future generations, and the importance of empathy in today’s society. Our student, Lilly Capdepon, delivered a proud-worthy talk titled “A Sprint for Success,” focusing on gender equality in sports.

Kushi M., a student from St. George Madrid, shared her impressions after the event: “It has been an incredible experience. We all worked very hard on our talks, not only on the content but also on how to convey our ideas clearly and emotionally. I am very proud to have been able to share my thoughts and, above all, to have had the chance to inspire others.”

Krishan, the father of student Kushi M., expressed his pride and satisfaction following the event: “I am incredibly proud of my daughter and all the young people who participated in TEDxSt George Madrid Youth. These types of initiatives reflect St. George Madrid and ISP’s commitment to developing students with a global vision and a critical mindset. Seeing my daughter speak in front of such a distinguished audience and share her ideas about the future was an invaluable experience. I feel fortunate that she is part of an educational community that gives her the opportunity to develop not only her academic potential but also her personal skills and ability to inspire others.”

St. George Madrid’s Headmaster, Giles Montier, expressed his satisfaction after the event: “Today, we have experienced an exceptional day. These young students have not only demonstrated their ability to analyze and reflect on the great issues of our time, but they have also shown remarkable courage and maturity. We are convinced that this kind of experience not only enriches their academic training but also their personal development and ability to face the world with a broad and positive vision. At St. George Madrid, we are committed to shaping future leaders, and events like this reinforce that purpose.”

An Event That Leaves a Mark

TEDxSt George Madrid Youth was more than just an event; it was a statement of intent for all those who believe in the transformative power of education and innovative thinking. The day concluded with a sense of fulfillment for having given a voice to the generations that will undoubtedly lead tomorrow.

The talks will soon be available on the TEDx YouTube channel, further expanding the impact of these 13 students’ ideas to the international community.

St. George Madrid extends its gratitude to its sponsors—Santillana, twt-ts, Crescenta, Alsa, Aramark, Vistalegre Solutions, Mallory, Edelvives, Universidad de Nebrija, and Eureda—for their support in making this event possible. The school also acknowledges the efforts of all students, teachers, and collaborators who contributed to making this gathering a reality.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of independently organized local events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talk videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These self-organized local events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

About TED

TED is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to discovering, debating, and spreading ideas that spark conversations, deepen understanding, and drive meaningful change. Our organization is devoted to curiosity, reason, wonder, and the pursuit of knowledge—without an agenda. We welcome people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world and connection with others, and we invite everyone to engage with ideas and activate them in their communities.

TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged, but today it covers multiple global communities and initiatives exploring a vast range of topics—from science and business to education, the arts, and global issues. In addition to TED Talks curated from our annual conferences and published on TED.com, we produce original podcasts, short video series, animated educational lessons (TED-Ed), and television programs that are translated into more than 100 languages and distributed through partnerships worldwide.

Every year, thousands of independently organized TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities across all continents. Through The Audacious Project, TED has helped catalyze over $3 billion in funding for projects that aim to make the world more beautiful, sustainable, and just. In 2020, TED launched Countdown, an initiative to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis and mobilize a movement for a net-zero future, and in 2023, TED launched TED Democracy to spark a new kind of conversation focused on realistic pathways to a more vibrant and equitable future.
