Secondary school students work on individual behaviour and active listening within the group
During mentorship hours, Secondary school students are working on different values to improve coexistence among themselves. During this month, we have worked on the importance of the way a person is treated for interpersonal relationships.
To do this, the tutors have worked on two activities. In the first, each one has been assigned a label with an instruction on how to treat someone that can be given in real life (“I really like you”, “look at me with disgust”, “ignore me”, “a rumour has spread about me”). The students have interacted for a while according to that label and then have reflected on how they have felt and what they could do to break down prejudices and treat others better. Secondly, we have worked on active listening by having them listen to and summarise the opinion of a classmate in public.
With this program we want to generate a positive impact on the values education of our students and encourage their personal growth and development.
