I5 at Manzanares el Real

Last week we visited the castle in Manzanares El Real. The castle was built in the 15th Century and lies between the Pantano (reservoir) de Santillana and the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama. The castle belonged to the Dukedom of Infantado.

We were able to admire the fortress which is made of granite, the gothic gallery and the barbican where we posed for photographs with the other classes. We pretended that we were real soldiers, firing arrows from the castle battlements before we went to look down the ancient well.

We finished our day with a picnic and came back to school dreaming that we were knights and princesses!
