Success in the Secondary Team-Building Trips de ESO
Last week, our secondary school students enjoyed a unique and enriching experience during their team-building trips, which not only strengthened their bonds with classmates but also enhanced their learning in real-life settings. From October 23rd to 25th, 1º and 2º ESO students traveled to Asturias, while 3º and 4º ESO students explored Córdoba and Granada from October 22nd to 25th.
In Asturias, our 1º and 2º ESO students stayed in Cangas de Onís, where they participated in a variety of activities. They began with an afternoon of ziplining, releasing energy and adrenaline. The next day, they visited the Sanctuary of Covadonga and the Holy Cave, where the Chapel of Our Lady of Covadonga is located. They continued with a walk around Lakes Enol and Ercina, learning about the high mountain ecosystem and traditional Asturian economy. The afternoon included a canoeing session along a section of the Sella River, and to conclude the adventure, they went spelunking in the Cobijero cave in Llanes, marveling at karst formations as they made their way to the sea.
Meanwhile, 3º and 4º ESO students enjoyed an immersive trip to Córdoba and Granada, filled with history, culture, and adventure. They started by exploring the ruins of Medina Azahara and the surrounding area of the Córdoba Mosque-Cathedral, wandering through the Jewish Quarter and its charming alleyways, plazas, and patios. The following day, they traveled to Granada to discover the Albaicín neighborhood, one of the most beautiful areas of the city, where they enjoyed unforgettable views of the Alhambra and Granada from the San Nicolás viewpoint. Their afternoon was filled with adventure, climbing the via ferrata and ziplining through the Great Cave, including a unique experience of crossing through a cave in the ravine. The next day was dedicated to the majestic Alhambra, where they explored the gardens, Nasrid palaces, Generalife, and Alcazaba. They concluded their journey in the charming coastal town of Salobreña, enjoying a sunny afternoon at the beach and ending with shopping and strolling through the city before returning to Madrid.
These trips were an invaluable experience for our students, not only fostering camaraderie but also providing an opportunity to contextualize and enrich their learning in a setting that complements their classroom education.
