Success of the “I Want to Be a Pilot” Talk for 1st-Year Bachillerato Students

On Monday, January 20th, 1st-year Bachillerato students attended the “I Want to Be a Pilot” talk, an initiative organized by Iberia as part of its Diversity Plan, which sparked great interest among the students. The goal of the activity was to introduce professional opportunities in the aviation sector, particularly in the pilot career.

The talk was led by Belén Alegre, co-pilot of Iberia’s Narrow Body fleet and Aeronautical Engineer, who was joined by two other co-pilots from the company. Belén shared her personal professional journey and explained in a relatable and educational way how she discovered her vocation after completing her degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Students learned firsthand about the steps required to become a pilot, as well as the opportunities for professional development within aviation.

Additionally, Belén shared her experience in management roles within Iberia’s Flight Operations Directorate, showing that a pilot’s career not only offers the chance to become a Captain but also access to other leadership positions within the company.

The talk was a resounding success, generating great enthusiasm among the students, who were able to ask questions and clarify their doubts about the aviation world.

Undoubtedly, this initiative provided an enriching experience for our students, who were inspired by the testimonies of dedicated and committed professionals.
