BOOK WEEK

Undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited weeks of the school year is International Aravaca Book Week; always full of surprises and excitement. This year, Miss Paz, the school librarian, has organised some experiences in the library through which the Primary students have played at putting sound effects to a story, making a trailer of a story, cooking their own book or discovering the mysterious guest at our particular reading table.

On the other hand, for the second year in a row, the preschool students have worked on reading the famous American writer and cartoonist Dr. Seuss, who has filled our hallways with imagination and creativity.

Our buddy readers have become a tradition, where Preschool and Primary students have shared experiences and readings and have made new friends. In addition, Primary students have also created very special stories for the I4 children, Primary 5 have created board games for the 2nd EPO students based on the stories they are working on, and Primary 3 have prepared some original raps for the youngest children of this stage, sharing an experience of dance, song and laughter again around fairy tales.

As it could not be otherwise, the week has put the cherry on top with the book fair, where this year we have dedicated one day to Spanish and another to English.

Now all that remains is to keep on reading, for as Mary Pope Osborne points out, “Reading is the passport to countless adventures”.
